Fra Giuseppe Maggiore moves from Messina to Pordenone

Fra Giuseppe Maggiore, the chaplain of the Central and Maritime Station in Messina, is temporarily leaving his post to serve in Pordenone. The move follows a request from the Bishop of Pordenone, who sought Maggiore’s expertise in working with vulnerable populations and the homeless.

Maggiore will remain in Pordenone for at least three months to help establish a new community focused on providing a human face to social outreach. While his departure is intended to be a temporary period, his permanent stay in Friuli remains a possibility depending on how the new mission develops.

In Messina, three other friars will manage the chaplaincy to ensure continuity. Maggiore, originally from San Fratello, had recently been reconfirmed for a three-year term in his Messina roles, including his position as provincial delegate for the poor.
