Fra Sergio Lorenzini appointed guardian of Renacavata convent
Fra Sergio Lorenzini has been appointed as the guardian father of the Renacavata convent in Camerino. This appointment follows his seven-year tenure as the provincial minister for the Province of the Friars Minor Capuchin of the Marche region.
Renacavata holds significant historical importance as the cradle of the Capuchin Order, which was officially recognized by Pope Clement VII in 1528. The convent served as the starting point for the Franciscan movement's expansion from the Marche region to the rest of the world.
Lorenzini, a native of San Severino Marche, is also recognized for his role in developing the ‘Cammino dei Cappuccini’ (Capuchin Way). This 400-kilometer religious pilgrimage route, which connects 17 stages from Fossombrone to Ascoli Piceno, is officially included in the Italian catalog of religious paths by the Ministry of Tourism.
