Fragiskos Koutentakis disputes New Democracy budget calculations

Fragiskos Koutentakis, the Finance spokesperson for the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS), has criticized New Democracy officials regarding their calculation of a proposed economic program. Koutentakis claims that opposition figures are using a flawed methodology by calculating the cumulative sum of expenditures over a four-year period rather than treating them as annual flows.

According to Koutentakis, the total cost of the program is 7.5 billion euros, to be implemented gradually through 2030. He argued that by summing the annual costs of the four-year period, New Democracy politicians are arriving at inflated figures ranging from 13 billion to 40 billion euros, which he characterized as an invented unit of measurement.
