Fragrance industry highlights enduring classics and rising niche brands

The fragrance industry continues to see both the enduring legacy of classic scents and the rise of experimental niche brands. Cacharel’s Eden, launched in 1994, remains a significant market reference. Known for its unique jade-like green bottle where each piece features distinct veining, the floral and woody fragrance continues to attract new generations of consumers.

In the niche sector, the brand L’Entropiste has gained institutional recognition. Its fragrance, Dorian’s Spleen, created by Bertrand Duchaufour, won the 2026 Best Niche Perfume Award in the ‘rising stars’ category from the Fragrance Foundation France. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s literature, the scent utilizes notes of whisky, dark chocolate, coffee, and tobacco to explore themes of decadence and chaos. Since its launch in early 2025, the house has expanded its presence to approximately fifty countries.
