Frameries motorist loses 1,100 euros to mirror scam

In Frameries, Belgium, a motorist was targeted by a “mirror scam” in a parking lot, resulting in a loss of 1,100 euros. The incident occurred while the driver was waiting in his vehicle for a passenger who had gone to an ATM.

According to local police, an individual approached the car and falsely accused the driver of damaging the vehicle's side mirror. The perpetrator reportedly opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat to demand immediate cash. The victim initially paid 450 euros, but the individual continued to demand more, eventually securing a total of 1,100 euros in cash. Authorities in the Hainaut region have issued an alert, noting that similar scenarios have been reported recently.
