Fran Maira premieres documentary amid legal scrutiny

Chilean singer Fran Maira has premiered her documentary, ‘Oveja Negra’, which chronicles her career trajectory following her appearance on ‘Gran Hermano Chile’. The 28-minute film explores her professional projects, her relationship with Chilevisión, and personal struggles including bullying and past relationships.

The documentary also addresses the February traffic accident involving Maira that left Colombian motorcyclist Mayerson Zapata seriously injured. Maira is currently under judicial measures, including monthly signatures and national travel restrictions, related to the incident.

Amid public criticism, Maira addressed her recent court-approved permission to travel to the United States for a family vacation from October 1 to October 20. She clarified that the trip was planned nine months prior to the accident and stated the time away is intended to help her disconnect and find herself after months without steady work.
