Each July, INSEE releases its annual ranking of baby names in France. Nationally, Gabriel and Louise remain the most common names. In the Franche‑Comté region, Jade tops the list for girls in the Territoire de Belfort and Doubs, Louise leads in the Jura, and Romy is most popular in Haute‑Saône. Among boys, Gabriel is first in the Jura, Léo leads in Doubs and the Territoire de Belfort, and Raphaël dominates Haute‑Saône. The region recorded 9,869 births in 2024 across its four departments.

In Brittany, the data show Malo as the leading name for boys in 2025, while for girls Adèle now ties with Louise for the top spot. Across France, 643,905 babies were born in 2025, a 2.3 % decline from the previous year.
