Algeria prioritizes ongoing industrial projects in 2027 budget

Algeria's Minister of Industry, Farid Kourtel, has presented the 2027 draft finance bill, which allocates 40.54 billion dinars in payment credits and 7.13 billion dinars in commitment authorizations to the industrial sector. The budget strategy focuses on completing existing projects rather than launching new ones, with 96.4% of investment credits dedicated to ongoing operations.

The ministry aims to increase the industrial sector's contribution to 13% of the national GDP. Key strategic sectors identified include agribusiness, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. To achieve this, the government plans to address industrial land constraints, strengthen local integration and subcontracting, improve infrastructure, and promote innovation and administrative modernization.
