France 3 magazine explores exceptional gardens in new broadcast
The television magazine “Des racines et des ailes” is featuring special episodes focused on extraordinary gardens. One segment commemorates the 400th anniversary of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Established in 1626 by King Louis XIII, the institution is highlighted for its scientific, architectural, and artistic heritage, including its role in the development of paleontology and comparative anatomy.
Another feature focuses on botanical landscapes, specifically highlighting the work of landscape architect Jean Mus, who designs Mediterranean-style gardens globally, including drought-resistant projects on the Greek island of Spetses. The program also visits chef Mauro Colagreco in Menton, who utilizes biodynamic farming across 22 hectares to supply his restaurant. Other locations featured include the Château de Bournazel in Aveyron, the Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle in Tuscany, and an underwater garden on the Italian coast.
