France 2 revives “L’Heure de vérité” political show for the 2027 presidential campaign

France Télévisions announced that the historic debate programme “L’Heure de vérité” will return on France 2 at the start of the 2027 presidential election cycle. The director of information, Philippe Corbé, said: “Nous allons faire de +L'Heure de vérité+ la grande émission politique de la présidentielle.” The show will be anchored by Caroline Roux and will feature a rotating panel of journalists from France 2, France Inter, Le Figaro, Radio Nova and other outlets. Regular contributors include Benjamin Duhamel (France Inter), Eugénie Bastié (Le Figaro), and economist Thomas Porcher (Radio Nova). An initial edition is slated for September, with a more frequent schedule from January to April leading up to the first‑round vote on 18 April. The revival also coincides with the launch of a new Sunday political programme hosted by Duhamel, prompting the end of “Dimanche en politique” on France 3. The move is intended to provide a flagship platform for candidate debates and public questioning ahead of the election.
