US adds 441,000 new millionaires as Europe sees rapid wealth surge in 2025

The UBS Global Wealth Report shows that nearly one million people became dollar millionaires worldwide in 2025 – about 2,680 new millionaires each day. The United States added the largest share, 441,078 new millionaires, accounting for roughly 40 % of the global increase.

Europe supplied most of the remainder. The United Kingdom recorded more than 43,000 new millionaires (about 118 per day), France and Spain each added over 32,000, while Italy and Germany each saw more than 24,000 new entrants. In percentage terms, Eastern Europe grew fastest: Lithuania led with an 8 % rise (921 new millionaires), followed by Turkey (6.4 %, 5,650), Latvia (5.7 %, 1,131), Hungary (5.3 %, 1,349) and Ireland (5.2 %, 9,491). Poland and Greece added 4 % and 3.5 % respectively. No country in the UBS sample lost millionaires.

Overall, the United States now hosts about 23.6 million dollar millionaires (over 40 % of the world total), while Western Europe accounts for just under 15 million, roughly a quarter of global wealth.
