France advances renewable energy storage with hybrid solar plant and mobile battery unit

A 77 MW photovoltaic‑plus‑battery hybrid plant has been commissioned in Vert, Landes, France. The facility combines 77 MW of solar generation with a 29.6 MWh lithium‑ion storage system, producing about 90 GWh annually. JSA supplied a Zenon‑based SCADA solution to supervise real‑time power flows, battery state‑of‑charge, and grid injection, enhancing flexibility and optimizing energy use.

At the VivaTech exhibition, French company Batterizy introduced the ATLAS One, a mobile energy‑storage unit designed for temporary power needs such as construction sites, trade shows, or film sets. The wheel‑mounted, plug‑and‑play system can be remotely controlled, runs silently without emissions, and can be recharged from solar panels or a generator. Batterizy highlights its socially inclusive production model, employing a workforce largely composed of people with disabilities.
