France advances sustainable mobility and electromobility initiatives
In Laudun-l’Ardoise, France, the inaugural Mobility Festival highlighted local efforts to promote alternative transportation. Mayor Ludovic Di Rollo presented plans for an intra-urban shuttle service designed to connect Laudun and L’Ardoise, as well as key local facilities such as the Forum, sports complexes, and industrial zones. The initiative aims to encourage soft mobility, including cycling, walking, and scooters, through new infrastructure like greenways and school-based cycling programs.
On a broader scale, discussions at the Université Polytechnique Hauts de France regarding electromobility emphasized the importance of energy sovereignty. The transition toward alternative and decarbonized energy sources—such as hydroelectricity, solar, biogas, wind, and hydrogen—is framed as a critical response to global fossil fuel dependence and ecological challenges. This movement seeks to establish energy independence at both national and local territorial levels.
