France advises simple steps to curb excessive sweating in heat
Heat waves raise body temperature, prompting natural sweating to cool the body. When sweating becomes excessive, it can cause discomfort, visible stains, and unpleasant odors, affecting confidence at work or in public.
Health experts recommend several easy habits: wear natural, breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen and choose loose clothing to improve air flow; stay well‑hydrated by drinking water throughout the day; limit intake of alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods that can increase sweat production; maintain good hygiene with daily gentle washing and thorough drying of sweat‑prone areas; and use deodorants for odor control while reserving antiperspirants, which block sweat glands, for occasional use only.
These measures help manage sweat without interfering with the body’s essential thermoregulation function.
