France and Norway advance to World Cup 2026 round of 32

France defeated Norway 4–1 in the final Group 9 match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, played at Boston Stadium on 26 June 2026. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the seventh minute and added two more goals at the 20th and 32nd minutes to complete a hat‑trick, while Desiri Dié sealed the win in stoppage time (90+4). Norway’s only goal came from Thilo Asg Jard in the 21st minute.

The victory gave France a perfect six‑point haul from three games, securing the top spot in the group with nine points. Norway finished second with six points, and both teams qualified for the round of 32.

The same round also saw Iraq suffer a 5–0 defeat to Senegal, ending Iraq’s campaign without a point.
