France and Turkey conduct joint naval exercises

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that the Turkish frigate TCG Gökova (F-496) and the French Navy frigate FS Surcouf conducted joint naval exercises. The training activities took place following the visit of the French vessel to the port of Marmaris.

Following the completion of the exercises, the French warship docked at Aksaz, located opposite the island of Rhodes. These joint activities are part of ongoing maritime cooperation between France and Turkey. The exercises occur shortly after the signing of a Defense Cooperation Roadmap on October 3, highlighting a period of increased military contact between the two NATO members.
