France Approves Multi‑Million Euro EHPAD Projects in Brisset and Aiffres

The Aisne region will modernise the Centre Hospitalier Brisset and expand the adjacent EHPAD Brisset with a combined investment of €34.3 million, including a €2.23 million 24‑hour public MRI unit slated for January 2027. The renovation, presented by hospital director Christine Dehoux and mayor Jean‑Jacques Thomas, aims to enlarge rooms, add private bathrooms and create new communal spaces, with construction expected to start in the second half of 2027 and finish in early 2029.

In the Deux‑Sèvres department, the Fondation Partage et Vie has been selected to build a new 83‑place EHPAD in Aiffres, scheduled to open in September 2029. The facility will offer temporary accommodation, a PASA unit and adopt a Montessori‑inspired, village‑style layout to promote autonomy and quality of life for residents. The project, backed by the regional health agency and the departmental council, seeks to address the growing demand for elderly care in the area.

Both initiatives reflect a broader French effort to upgrade elderly‑care infrastructure and improve living conditions for seniors across regional health networks.
