France as Guest Country at Mexico's Cervantino Festival

France will serve as the Guest Country for the 54th edition of the International Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico, running from 3 to 18 October 2026. The French delegation will present a wide program of contemporary music, theatre, dance, opera, cinema and multidisciplinary projects, featuring ensembles such as Pygmalion, (LA) HORDE, Dabeull Live Band, Busy P, Breakbot & Irfane, Yasmin, Les Métaboles and a French‑Mexican collaboration on "La vida secreta de los viejos". The Maison de France will also host a gastronomic showcase. The participation results from cooperation between the French Embassy in Mexico, the Institut Français for Latin America and the festival organizers, aiming to deepen cultural ties between the two nations. French ambassador Delphine Borione said the artistic program seeks to “reveal what we sometimes prefer not to see and take the pulse of our time.”
