France aviation sector sees high demand for ground handling roles

The aviation sector in France is seeing significant recruitment needs, particularly for ground handling agents. At Paris-Charles de Gaulle alone, Groupe ADP has announced plans to fill 40,000 positions by 2035, including 10,000 net new roles.

Ground handling agents work directly on the tarmac, managing aircraft maneuvers, baggage and cargo loading, refueling, and de-icing. The role is characterized by physical demands, outdoor work, and non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. Entry into the profession does not require a specific high school diploma, and short-term training programs allow for relatively quick career transitions.
