France basketball defeats Sweden to advance in World Cup qualifiers

The French national basketball team secured a 84-69 victory against Sweden in Stockholm to advance their progress toward the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Played at the Avicii Arena, the match proved difficult for the French side, who struggled with physical play and poor three-point shooting early on.

Sweden led 24-20 after the first quarter, driven by a strong performance from Pelle Larsson, who scored 23 points. Despite being pressured by the Swedish defense and facing challenges in the paint, France managed to overcome the deficit in the final stages of the game. This win brings France to a 7-1 record in the current qualification window.

France's upcoming schedule includes matches in Estonia on November 27 and November 30, followed by games in Slovenia and against Estonia in February. The 2027 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Doha, Lusail, and Al Rayyan.
