France boosts youth sport financing with club fund and state‑run Pass’Sport subsidy

The La Châtaigneraie tennis club in Rueil‑Malmaison will launch the Castanea programme, a youth‑sport fund offering up to €75,000 a year to support 3‑5 selected athletes aged 13 to 21. The budget can cover travel, competition fees, equipment, accommodation and coaching, and recipients will represent the club in events and on social media. At the same time, the club is undergoing a rebranding, adopting a new logo, visual identity and upgraded facilities, with Julien Chenneberg installed as general manager.

For the 2026‑2027 season, the French Pass’Sport scheme continues to provide a €70 reduction on sport‑club licences for eligible children. The subsidy is financed directly by the State through the Agency for Services and Payment, not by the CAF, and is applied at the point of registration. Eligibility targets families with modest incomes, young people with disabilities and student beneficiaries. The aid aims to lower the cost barrier to organised sport for thousands of French youths.
