France builds solar parks in Oursbelille and Bon‑Repos‑sur‑Blavet to fund water protection and local energy

In the Hautes‑Pyrénées commune of Oursbelille, the water syndicate of Tarbes‑Nord and the SEM Ha‑Py Énergies installed a 5 MWc photovoltaic park covering about six hectares. The facility, with roughly 10,000 panels, generates revenue that finances a water‑protection perimeter around the drinking‑water catchments serving 26 communes (about 15,000 residents) and compensates farmers who adopt lower‑nitrate practices.

On the former RN 164 route near Bon‑Repos‑sur‑Blavet in Côtes‑d’Armor, a second solar park of 10,350 panels was inaugurated. It will produce around 6.6 GWh annually – the equivalent electricity consumption of roughly 3,000 people – and was built with a €6.2 million investment. Ownership is split among CVE (60 %), Enercoop Bretagne and the Communauté de Communes du Kreiz Breizh (25 %), and the citizen‑investor group Énergie Partagée (15 %). Over 30 years the site is expected to generate about €945 000 in local economic returns and earmark €6 000 each year for ecological projects.
