France defender William Saliba confirmed fit for 2026 World Cup

France manager Didier Deschamps announced that central defender William Saliba is fully fit and will be available for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Deschamps said Saliba has been monitored by the medical staff and, despite a lingering back issue, it has not limited his recent playing time, including a full 120 minutes in Arsenal’s Champions League final. The coach confirmed that all 26 players, including Saliba, are expected to feature in the upcoming friendly against Northern Ireland on June 8.

Deschamps also addressed concerns about other key players such as Ousmane Dembélé, but emphasized that Saliba’s fitness removes doubts ahead of France’s World Cup campaign.
