France electronic invoicing: deadline for platform selection approaches

French companies are facing a deadline at the end of December to select one of the 163 approved platforms for the mandatory transition to electronic invoicing. While the reform has been in effect since September 1, adoption rates vary significantly across different sectors.

Large corporations have largely anticipated the change, but very small enterprises (TPE) are reportedly lagging behind due to a lack of regulatory monitoring. Data indicates that as of September 1, adoption rates were approximately 71% for freelancers and real estate agents, 68% for healthcare professionals, 58% for merchants, and 55% for taxi and VTC drivers.

The transition has become a political issue, exacerbated by recent cyberattacks and data leaks affecting public services such as the National Education system and tax authorities. These security concerns have increased reluctance among businesses to adopt the new digital requirements.
