France emphasizes tree safety after arborist insurance guidance and Strasbourg sequoia trimmed

In Les Herbiers, homeowners are reminded to verify that an arborist holds a valid professional civil liability insurance policy before work begins. The required proof must include the company name, SIRET number, insurer, policy number and coverage dates, and it should cover the specific height and conditions of the job.

Separately, the city of Strasbourg cut the top 15 metres off a centuries‑old giant sequoia in its botanical garden after a health inspection identified a hidden defect that could have caused the crown to collapse. The operation, carried out by a specialist firm using a crane, was intended to eliminate the danger to nearby structures and visitors.
