France energy voucher: official emails sent to eligible households

Between August 31 and September 4, 2026, potential beneficiaries of the French energy voucher (chèque énergie) who have not yet received their aid will receive official email communications. These emails are intended to direct eligible households to the official application platform.

Since the removal of the housing tax, the distribution process has become semi-automatic. While 4.2 million households received the aid automatically in spring 2026, approximately one million eligible households may not have received it. The aid, ranging from roughly 150 to 277 euros, is designed to help low-income households pay energy bills or heating charges in specific establishments like nursing homes. It cannot be used for energy renovation works.

The claim form remains open until December 31, 2026. Minister Delegate for Energy Maud Bregeon has indicated that the program may be renewed in the 2027 budget.
