France expands senior transport assistance with demand‑based health service and €450 mobility grant

France is bolstering mobility options for older people. A demand‑driven health transport service called LUCY, promoted on a French territorial website, offers on‑request trips for medical appointments and other health‑related travel.

Separately, the private pension scheme Agirc‑Arrco has launched the "Sortir Plus" program, granting seniors aged 75 and over an annual €450 credit to cover escorted trips by foot or car. The aid is fully funded, requires no advance payment or paperwork, and replaces the former paper‑cheque system. The scheme reports more than 150,000 secured trips each year across the country, aiming to preserve autonomy and social activity for the elderly.

Both initiatives seek to reduce transport barriers for seniors, improve access to health services, and support active aging in France.
