France fire relief drives collect clothing and funds for victims

The municipality of Toufflers, together with the local Cercle Saint Paul, organized a collection of clothing and blankets for people affected by recent wildfires. Donations were accepted at the town hall during set hours.

In the Gironde region, the charity association Secours Urgence Résilience Solidarité (SURS) ran a week‑long fundraising campaign for two Réunionnais caterers, Cédric and Jennifer, who volunteered to prepare meals for firefighters battling the fires. The campaign attracted 168 donors and raised €6,273, enough to provide roughly 1,255 meals—covering more than 313 fire crews and delivering up to 400 meals in a single service.

Both initiatives highlight community solidarity and the role of local organisations in supporting fire‑affected populations across France.
