France highlights popular swimming spots as heatwave persists

In the Moselle region, the historic Hanau Pond in Philippsbourg, a tourist‑favoured bathing site since the 19th century, continues to attract visitors seeking relief from high temperatures.

Near Angers in Maine‑et‑Loire, three supervised swimming locations are promoted for summer cooling: the Villevêque beach on the Loir at Rives‑du‑Loir‑en‑Anjou, the Parc des Sablières in Écouflant with its large water area and amenities, and the Lac du Maine just five minutes from Angers city centre, offering swimming alongside picnicking, cycling and other recreational facilities. All sites operate supervised bathing hours through the end of August.
