France prosecutes teacher and rapper in separate sexual‑violence cases

A 41‑year‑old technology teacher at Collège La Fosse‑aux‑Dames in Clayes‑sous‑Bois, Yvelines, has been placed under judicial control after being formally charged with rapes of a 13‑year‑old student between December 2022 and March 2024. The prosecutor opened an investigation for rape and sexual assault on a minor, and the teacher has been suspended from any school duties since the 2024‑2025 school year.

In a separate case, Paris‑based rapper Mamadou Coulibaly, known as Doums, faced a criminal trial for “repeated domestic violence” against actress Adèle Exarchopoulos. The offences, alleged to have occurred from 2017 to 2025, include assaults such as hitting the victim’s face, pulling her hair and threatening her with violence. The court ordered a partial closed‑session hearing to protect the parties’ privacy and adjourned the trial to 8 February 2027. Doums, already convicted in previous cases of domestic violence, is being tried again while remaining on probation for an earlier sentence.
