France hosts 2026 National Architecture Days focusing on rehabilitation

The 2026 National Architecture Days, organized by the French Ministry of Culture under the theme ‘Rehabilitate: building the future’, will feature various events across France from October 15 to 18.

In the Ain department, the CAUE de l’Ain is organizing visits to the rehabilitation project of the Batterie du Fort de Sermenaz in Neyron. The program includes a tour of the site and a garden forest, followed by a conference titled ‘Heritage and Contemporary Issues’ led by architect Guy Desgrandchamps. The lecture will explore the preservation and reuse of historical sites, such as archaeological vestiges and former abbeys.

In Essonne, notable events include guided tours of the François-le-Comte ice rink in Évry-Courcouronnes, which will offer access to its technical areas, and visits to the Pyramide 14, an emblematic building in the new town of Évry designed in the 1970s.
