France hosts charity events to support pediatric cancer research
Various solidarity events are being organized in France to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research and treatment.
In Jeumont, the ‘Septembre en Or’ event is scheduled for September 20, 2026, at the Complexe Sportif Alain Mimoun. Co-organized by the Maubeuge-Val de Sambre Agglomeration and the City of Jeumont, the day will feature sports activities, including cycling, yoga, and climbing, alongside prevention stands and fundraising efforts.
In Marseille, the AP-HM (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Marseille) is organizing a charity concert on September 3, 2026, at the Parc de la Mairie de Bagatelle. Featuring DJ Yann Muller and other artists, the event aims to fund the acquisition of an MRI-Linac. This advanced equipment, which combines MRI imaging with radiotherapy to treat tumors with high precision, would make La Timone the first French university hospital to have an MRI-Linac dedicated to pediatrics. The fundraising campaign led by the Phoceo endowment fund has already raised over 2.5 million euros toward the 3 million euro goal.
