France hosts Fête de la Science focusing on gastronomy and nutrition

The 2026 Fête de la Science in France features a national theme focused on the intersection of gastronomy and scientific research. In La Rochelle, the University is leading a program from September 29 to October 12 that explores the links between nutrition, biology, and taste. The event includes a conference at a local hotel school on the evolution of dietary habits and various exhibitions across cultural sites, covering topics such as pollination, brain function during meals, and the impact of algae.

In Lille, IMT Nord Europe and the University of Lille are collaborating to host workshops at the Gymnase de Lille from October 8 to 11. These sessions, titled ‘the secrets of taste,’ aim to demonstrate how senses like smell, texture, temperature, and even sound contribute to the perception of food through interactive sensory experiences.
