France hosts international space summit and South Korean presidential visit

France is hosting two significant diplomatic events involving international leaders. An international space summit, initiated by President Emmanuel Macron and co-chaired by France and Germany, is taking place at the Grand Palais in Paris. The summit expects approximately 2,000 participants from 120 countries across politics, business, science, and technology. Key discussions will focus on space governance, the global space economy, space science and exploration, and ensuring space security through dialogue and defense.

Separately, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung is conducting a four-day visit to France to strengthen bilateral ties. Following a stop in Nice for the Lumière Summit, Lee will travel to Paris for a state visit and a summit with President Macron. The leaders aim to expand cooperation in security, the economy, and energy, including potential collaboration in nuclear energy and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. The visit also includes a business meeting featuring 20 companies from both nations, marking 140 years of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France.
