France hosts national architecture and repair events
France is hosting two major national events focused on sustainability and resource management from October 15 to 18, 2026.
The 11th edition of the National Architecture Days, held under the theme “Réhabiliter : bâtir l’avenir” (Rehabilitate: building the future), features over 1,400 events. Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the initiative emphasizes the transformation of existing structures to address environmental, social, and urban challenges. The program highlights renovation, energy sobriety, and the reuse of materials as essential tools for the ecological transition.
Simultaneously, the fourth edition of the National Repair Days is taking place, with nearly 1,500 events across the country. Launched by the association Halte à l'obsolescence programmée (HOP) and the Make.org Foundation, the event encourages citizens to extend the lifespan of everyday objects such as electronics, clothing, and furniture. The initiative aims to promote economic savings and environmental protection, noting that extending the life of household equipment by three years could save a household over 1,900 euros.
