France launches investigation into medical exam fraud allegations

The French government has launched an inspection mission following allegations of widespread fraud in the medical residency entrance exams. The investigation was prompted by an anonymous letter circulated on social media, which claims that hundreds of students gained unfair advantages by accessing exam subjects and evaluation grids via a private Telegram group.

The whistleblower alleges that the cheating allowed candidates to climb as many as 6,000 places in the general rankings. The allegations suggest potential complicity from supervisors or staff responsible for transporting exam materials.

The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education announced the mission to ensure transparency and maintain trust in the examination process. While the Centre national de gestion (CNG) initially stated that no significant discrepancies were found in the results, the official ministerial investigation is expected to deliver its findings by October 15.
