France marks 100th birthdays of Denise Guillet and Jeanne Delacour

Denise Guillet celebrated her 100th birthday on 31 July 2026 at the Côte d’amour residence in France. Surrounded by nieces, nephews and the facility’s staff, the event highlighted the importance of family ties and social care for seniors.

Jeanne Delacour, born 19 July 1926 in Port‑Bail‑sur‑Mer (Manche), also turned 100 in July 2026. The former farmer marked the milestone with her children, grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, recalling a life of farm work from age 13 and memories of World‑War‑II bombings. Local officials presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

Both celebrations underscore the personal and community significance of centenarian milestones in French regional life.
