France non-store retail sales rise 5.6% in volume

Non-store retail sales in France grew by 5.6% in volume between June and August 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to data from Insee. This category includes online sales and other distance shopping methods.

This growth contrasts with the broader French retail sector, which saw a volume increase of only 0.6% during the same period. In August, non-store sales rebounded by 2.8% compared to July, while automotive commerce declined by 0.6%. Traditional retail also showed some resilience, with specialized store sales increasing by 2% year-on-year.
