France: Online marketplace scam results in 3,000 euro loss

A family in the Gard region of France fell victim to a sophisticated online marketplace scam involving the sale of small figurines. What began as a modest transaction for items valued at approximately 15 euros escalated into a significant financial loss of 3,000 euros.

The scammers utilized a psychological tactic by pretending there was a problem with the payment process. Through a series of phone calls and interactions with multiple individuals, the victims were manipulated into a cycle of false promises and fake reimbursement requests, eventually leading to the disappearance of the funds.
