France outdoor accidents: hiker and mountain biker fatalities reported
Several outdoor accidents have been reported in France. In the Dévoluy Massif, a 34-year-old hiker died following a 400-meter fall on the north ridge of Le Nid at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters. The individual was reportedly not secured by a rope during the climbing passage. Emergency responders, including the CRS Alpes and Samu Isère, arrived via helicopter but could not revive the victim.
In Haute-Savoie, a 58-year-old mountain biker died after going off-path in Montriond. The same region saw two other mountain biking incidents: a 21-year-old man was hospitalized with a head injury in Châtel, and a 15-year-old boy was evacuated to a hospital in Thonon after sustaining ankle injuries in Bernex.
