Europe advances end-of-life laws in France, Italy, and Veneto
Legislative developments regarding end-of-life rights are progressing in Europe. In France, a new law has been finalized to regulate assisted suicide and, in specific circumstances, euthanasia. The bill proposes creating multidisciplinary commissions at every provincial health agency to evaluate cases based on existing Constitutional Court criteria, while also allowing healthcare professionals to opt out of participation based on personal or religious convictions.
