France property tax notices issued for 2026
The 2026 property tax (taxe foncière) campaign in France has commenced, with notices being sent to owners starting August 24. For those receiving paper notices, delivery is expected between August 24 and September 21, while digital versions will be available on the tax website starting August 27.
Several municipalities in the Hauts-de-Seine and Seine-Saint-Denis departments are seeing significant tax increases. Montrouge has reported a 25% rise, followed by Clamart at 16.9%. In Seine-Saint-Denis, Drancy is seeing a 14.1% increase, while Aulnay-sous-Bois is up by 9.18%. Local officials in Drancy attributed the hike to rising costs and a reduction in state support.
Payment deadlines depend on the method chosen: online payments must be completed by October 20, 2026, while other methods such as checks or transfers must be settled by October 15. Property owners can also opt for automatic withdrawal by enrolling by September 30, which would process the payment on October 26.
