France records 21.2 billion euros in international arms orders
France recorded 21.2 billion euros in international arms orders in 2025, marking its third-best historical year. This performance represents 9.8% of the global major arms market between 2021 and 2025, placing France ahead of Russia but behind the United States.
A significant geographic shift is occurring, with Asia now accounting for 43% of French orders, up from 23% the previous year. Key contracts driving this growth include 26 Rafale Marine jets for India, two Scorpène Evolved submarines for Indonesia, a warship for Greece, and ten Caracal helicopters for Morocco.
The Moroccan order for Airbus Caracal helicopters alone accounted for approximately 532.1 million euros of the total 2025 military orders from France, a massive increase compared to previous years. While aeronautics constitutes 40% of exports, the missile sector is seeing the fastest growth due to European stock replenishment efforts.
