France school updates: heat mitigation in La Ciotat and Corsica calendar

In La Ciotat, France, the municipality has installed air circulators in three schools—Louis Pourcelly, La Salis, and Rosy Sanna—to combat rising temperatures and improve student comfort. The summer installation also included upgrading lighting systems to accommodate the new ventilation equipment.

In Corsica, the 2026-2027 school year schedule has been announced. Students are set to return to classes on September 3, following teacher returns on September 1. The calendar includes specific regional holidays and breaks, such as the Toussaint holidays starting October 17 and the Christmas break from December 19 to January 4. Additionally, the CAF has distributed school start allowances to over 11,000 families in the region to assist with the costs of supplies and clothing.
