France soccer squad lands in Boston as World Cup 2026 kicks off

The French national football team touched down at Boston Logan International Airport on Wednesday around 16:00 local time (22:00 Paris) after departing from the Bourget. Delegates were subject to unusually intense security procedures on the tarmac, including body searches and prolonged document checks, reflecting heightened U.S. security measures for several visiting teams.

The delegation of roughly 60 members – 26 players, coaching and support staff, and federation officials – moved to the Four Seasons hotel in downtown Boston, which they will occupy for the tournament. Training will take place at Bentley University’s campus in Waltham. France’s World Cup schedule begins with a Group I match against Senegal on 16 June in East Rutherford, followed by games versus Iraq on 22 June in Philadelphia and Norway on 26 June in Foxborough, with a potential final appearance at MetLife Stadium on 19 July.
