France to analyze DNA samples in Salta tourist murder case

Biological samples related to the investigation of the murders of French citizens Cassandre Bouvier and Houria Moummi in Salta, Argentina, have been sent to France for advanced genetic analysis.

The samples, which include sperm and epithelial fragments, were previously held by the Molecular Biology Service of the Fiscal Investigation Body (CIF) in Salta. They are being transferred to a specialized laboratory of the French National Gendarmerie to obtain genetic profiles that could provide critical information for the case.

This international judicial cooperation follows a request from Salta prosecutors to review the dismissal of Walter Lasi, who was implicated in the crimes. The process involves coordination between Salta prosecutors and a judge in Paris. The transfer was facilitated through the French Embassy, with the samples delivered by prosecutor Pablo Rodrigo Paz and subsequently transported by Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Audont.
