France to disburse school allowance in August 2026 as Bayeux Intercom boosts local voucher to €20

The national Allocation de Rentrée Scolaire (ARS) for the 2026‑2027 school year is expected to be paid in mid‑August 2026, with the usual date around 20 August for metropolitan France, Guadeloupe, Guyane and Martinique, and an earlier rollout on 5 August for Réunion and Mayotte. Payments will be made by the CAF or MSA to families whose children (born 2011‑2020) meet the eligibility criteria, with additional verification required for older students (born 2008‑2010). Delays may occur if personal or banking details need updating.

From September 2026, Bayeux Intercom in Calvados will extend a "bon de rentrée scolaire" to all eligible secondary‑school pupils in its territory. The voucher, increased to €20 from €15.50, will benefit about 1,400 students and can be used at designated partner retailers for school supplies or sports equipment until 31 October 2026. The intercommunality is funding the €28,000 programme entirely. Mayor Arnaud Tanquerel said the initiative helps families "reduce inequalities between communes and strengthen the residential attractiveness of our territory."
