France to host major architecture and heritage events in October 2026

France will host two major architectural and heritage events in October 2026. The 11th edition of the National Architecture Days (Journées nationales de l’architecture) will take place from October 15 to 18. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, this year’s theme, “Réhabiliter : bâtir l’avenir” (Rehabilitate: building the future), focuses on the environmental and social benefits of renovating existing buildings rather than demolishing them.

The program includes site visits, open architecture studios, and urban walks. In the Roissy Pays de France region, specific events will highlight 20th and 21st-century contemporary architecture, including guided tours of the future Ysieux potters' archaeo-site and the “Les petits marins de l’Ourcq” nursery.

Following these events, the 31st International Cultural Heritage Salon (Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel) will be held at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris from October 29 to November 1. Under the theme “Patrimoine en lumières” (Heritage in lights), the salon will feature over 300 exhibitors from approximately ten countries, showcasing the work of artisans, restorers, and architects through conferences and demonstrations.
