France to issue decrees improving breast cancer care
French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist announced that three final decrees aimed at improving breast cancer care will be published by the end of the year. These measures follow legislation passed in February 2023.
The decrees address several specific needs for patients: the provision of adapted bras, the regulation of restorative dermopigmentation (tattooing to redraw the areola), and the reimbursement of specialized creams and nail polishes designed to protect skin and nails weakened by chemotherapy.
Regarding dermopigmentation, the minister noted that conventions must be established with trained professionals who may not be traditional healthcare providers. For skin and nail care, the government is currently creating a nomenclature of products to allow them to be reimbursed similarly to medical treatments.
