Daylight saving time transition scheduled for October 2026

In 2026, many regions will transition from daylight saving time to winter time on Sunday, October 25. During this change, clocks will be set back one hour at 04:00 to 03:00, providing an extra hour of sleep.

While most modern electronic devices like smartphones and computers adjust automatically, manual updates may be required for analog clocks, alarm clocks, and certain vehicle systems.

The debate regarding the permanent abolition of seasonal time changes continues within the European Union. Although the European Commission proposed ending the biannual clock shifts in 2018 and the European Parliament has supported the move, a final decision has not yet been reached, meaning the current system remains in effect.
